Block resistance design to reduce the Joule-Thomson effect.

The BR series back pressure regulators with block resistance. This series is particularly ideal for specialized applications such as supercritical CO2 (SCO2) extraction, but is also useful in any process where clogging, blockage, or freezing may occur. This series integrates unique design features that allow customers to achieve precise control by reducing the Joule-Thomson effect as supercritical process fluids pass through the unit. The main design feature of this regulator series is a downstream expansion cavity that continuously increases the cross-sectional area to eliminate convergence points caused by ice accumulation. Furthermore, this large thermal capacity increases the heat transfer area for heating the discharge fluid in multiple ways. Finally, this series has specially designed O-ring grooves to reduce stress during rapid depressurization, extending the lifespan of the O-rings. This series offers several custom fitting options, including outlet flanges, tube stubs, or NPT fittings.

Equilibar High-Temperature Back Pressure Regulator

High-temperature back pressure regulator

By upgrading to an SS316 diaphragm and Kalrez O-ring, the operating temperature range can be extended to 300°C/527°F. Using a metal diaphragm also allows the pressure range to be increased to a maximum of 10,000 psig/689 bar(g). The standard PTFE/glass composite diaphragm can be used under conditions of low pressure up to 232°C (450°F), but considering the mechanical stress reduction of PTFE at high temperatures, the SS316 diaphragm is more practical for most high-temperature applications. In some applications, diaphragms made of Hastelloy C276 are also available.

We offer four models: 10BP, 4000ABP, 20BP, and 4500ABP. Each model is extremely sensitive and functions to detect fluctuations in primary pressure and maintain a constant pressure. Back Pressure Regulator Research Series

It achieves high precision even under high pressure and low flow conditions.

We solve critical performance issues for laboratories and gas analysis systems around the world. They are particularly popular in applications such as catalyst research and reservoir core analysis. Equilibar features a design in the Research Series with multiple trim styles and a variety of diaphragm materials, accommodating many demanding research environments. The back pressure regulators in the Research Series handle a very wide range of flow rates, pressures, and temperatures. Materials include Hastelloy, SS316L, PTFE, and FFKM (Kalrez). The maximum temperature range for research back pressure regulators is standard at 150°C, with a maximum of 200°C using Viton seals and metal diaphragms, and up to 325°C with Kalrez seals and metal diaphragms. For extreme temperatures, the High-Temperature (HT) model can be used in processes up to 450°C.

Equilibar Back Pressure Regulator (General Series)

It stably controls gas, liquid, and mixed fluids with port sizes ranging from 1/4 inch to 1 inch.

Designed for pilot scale and manufacturing scale, these models are widely used for electrolysis, fuel cell testing, continuous API manufacturing, pressure bypass control, and high-resolution flow control. Trim and body materials can be customized to meet process requirements. Common stock materials include SS316L and PVC, but depending on the application, GS backpressure regulators can also be made from materials such as aluminum, Hastelloy C276, Monel, PTFE, and PEEK. O-ring and diaphragm materials are also available in various materials to suit process needs.

Equilibar offers two form factors within this size range: the IC Industrial Collection and the BD Series, each with its own unique advantages. Equilibar Electronic Back Pressure Regulator

Electronic back pressure is an automatic reverse pressure control based on analog or digital signals.

The back pressure adjustment seat mechanism is the same as the manual back pressure regulator (BPR), but the seat position of the electronic back pressure adjuster is adjusted by electronic devices rather than mechanical ones. One of the advantages of using a dome load back pressure regulator is the ability to freely choose the type of dome setpoint according to the situation. Equilibar provides multiple electronic pressure regulators to control the dome set signal, offering a complete solution for electronic back pressure control. The design of pressure control systems can often become a long-term project involving frequent specification changes. The back pressure adjuster can simplify this process with its high flow turn-down ratio and flexible setpoint options. The dome load design allows for initial setup with a manual control system, after which it can be set up with electronic control without the need to purchase a new back pressure regulator.

High-pressure back pressure regulator

It demonstrates high precision performance in high-pressure applications up to 10,000 psig / 689 bar(g). Equilibar's high-pressure regulators are available in standard low-flow models for applications such as high-pressure reactors and ultra-low-flow models for applications like high-pressure core testing. They achieve high precision and stable control for liquid, gas, and multiphase fluids. Equilibar has announced the U20L, a new ultra-low-flow BPR with a rated pressure of 20,000 psig / 1375 bar(g), integrated into DCI Test Systems' ABPR-20. The BPR shown on the right, H10P, has a rated pressure of 10,000 psig / 689 bar(g). Since Equilibar regulators are dome-loaded, the dome reference port requires a pilot setting reference pressure equal to the desired inlet pressure (at a 1:1 ratio). This pilot setting pressure is typically supplied from a high-pressure inert gas cylinder, such as nitrogen. Customers usually control this reference setting pressure using a manual pressure-reducing regulator, but there are other methods to apply pressure load to the dome of the Equilibar BPR.

Sanitary Back Pressure Regulator FB5C Series

Suitable for processes and cleaning equipment examples, food, beverages, dairy products, CIP, SIP, centrifuges, sterilization equipment, nitrogen gas control for blankets, etc.

The FB5C back pressure regulator provides suitable hard seats and a variety of diaphragms and O-ring materials for aseptic back pressure applications. The FB5C operates by sensing the pressure or back pressure of the fluid supplied to the underside of the diaphragm from the side-mounted inlet. When the back pressure exceeds the set pressure, the load force on the diaphragm compresses the spring, causing the stem to function in an open state from the seat. As the flow increases and the back pressure is discharged, the forces of the spring and diaphragm are relieved, allowing the stem to return to its normally closed position. Changing the set pressure can be done simply by turning the adjustment screw to increase or decrease pressure within the range of the regulator spring settings. <Features> • No sliding parts in contact with the fluid – prevents microbial growth • 100% 316L stainless steel body and trim • Self-draining • No threaded parts in disassembly for cleaning • Spring housing compatible with CIP and SIP *For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
